How To Develop Your Childs Genius.

What are the characteristics of a child genius?
Who said I have a child? I don’t.
Seriously, why bother answering if you’re going to get personal?
when he/she learns to read at a young age, and can pick up things(not objects, learning material) quickly and can understand your conversations and get VERY good grades in school. This all should have happened when the child is basically a baby because it is seldom that a child carries all these characteristics of a genius
How the hell can the senior Dr. Jones be dead in the Crystal Skull when he drank from the Holy Grail in the Last Crusade?
Somebody want to splain that to me?
Can’t fathom that one. Makes no sense to me.
I mean, if you’re going to create a make believe world, at least be consistent with your own rules.
If you had the choice that, when your child is born, his or her’s genes could be augmented in such a way as to ensure an IQ of 170+, would you do it?
I’d make him into a bottle of Guinness and then drink up.
I want to know what’s my child’s I.Q, she’s just a 15-month old baby.
i am pretty sure there are no iq tests until you can read.
if she can read – she would have a pretty high iq
i thought every parent knew their child is a genius – just a matter of figuring out what in….. that’s the hard part!
Say through genetically engineering your baby.
The other 5% would only lead to a normal level of intelligence.
How much in $ or what percentage of your yearly net salary?
None.
I will accept my child as he/she comes.
I have taken steps to enrich brain growth (Baby Plus Prenatal Education System/DHA supplements) but I would never genetically engineer my kid..not even if I was a millionaire.
My oldest child is smarter than the average 2 year old. Everyone thinks she’s older than she really is because she’s tall and because her speech is so advanced. But I don’t think of her as particularly gifted, just a little more advanced than other children her age.
Her five month old sister, on the other hand, seems to be incredibly intelligent… but I always chalked it up to a different personality than her sister’s. She’s extremely interested in books and is a very observant, always quietly watching everyone. She’s meeting her milestones earlier too, but I wouldn’t consider that to be a sign of giftedness. A girlfriend of mine said to me tonight, “she’s going to be your kid that is reading at 2 1/2! She’s your genius child.” Well, I don’t like labeling kids especially so early, but I’ve always felt there’s something really special about this baby of mine. So that got me thinking… can you tell if a child is gifted at the tender age of 5 months? Or is that way too young?
To the first answerer… dude, I didn’t say my 2 year old was gifted because she uses the potty on her own. I don’t think I even mentioned that she is potty trained. Any 2 year old can use the potty. I never even said my 2 year old was gifted, just above average, at least in her speaking ability.
I was just curious if you can tell this early if a child is gifted. I never said my child WAS gifted, she just _seems_ intelligent based on behavior I’ve seen. But it could just be her personality.
Sounds to me like you have two gifted girls.
Signs would include surpassing peers in things that other children normally do at that age, ie: reading before peers, speaking, walking, etc.
But, those are not always qualifying symptoms of gifted children. Einstein did not even speak till he was almost 5. They thought he was retarded. They nearly put him in a home. When asked later in life why he did not speak, he said that he didn’t have anything importan to say.
I have a film of my 12 month old baby dancing, with her Easter hat on, singing Take Me Out To The Ballgame. She is a genius. She graduated with a 4.2 GPA and was Validictorian. She is an artist and has art in museums already. My daughter is 22.
She’s gifted. She started much like yours.
I can, however, confirm that children who seem advanced often are.
Good luck.
I Advise boy and family to belong to moral and spiritual convictions since Genius Aulad, offers an integrated program of Islamic religious education in combination with the preschool education
What are some signs? and how early can you tell? can a toddler be gifted?
All babies are geniuses, unless they are developmentally delayed. It just depends on what parents do with their babies, and how they are raised.
I need help! I need to write a paper for my psychology class and need to answer this question.
If they really wanted to, yes. It would have to be their informed choice, like it was for me. I would not push my child in any direction, just give them the facts and be honest with them, and allow them to stew it over.
I started college when I was 14-almost-15. At first on the basis of just a few classes in my last 1/2 year of high school, but after a semester, I was full time. I was no “genius”, never have been, but I am smarter than the average bear and knew how to work the game of school from an early age. I skipped 2 grades when I was younger. I liked it. It was much better than languishing in a high school that could not challenge me and didn’t provide any kind of social life with people… on my wavelength. College did. I still had social issues, some people wouldn’t take me seriously because of my age, no matter how often I proved that I could match or surpass them academically, but some people did accept me and I enjoyed the friendships there much more than I had in high school.
I understand you can boost your child intellegence in his/her first year, is this true?
I don’t think every child grows up to be a genius, but there are ways of boosting their intelligence. And one way is to NOT sit them in front of the television with Baby Einstein. They need interaction. Play with them! Make every situation a learning experience(show them things and tell them the colors, count with them, start teaching them basic words, read to them, etc.). Children are definitely hands-on learners. The more you interact with them the more they learn and absorb.
